aperture is a facade installation with interactive and narrative displaying modes. Consisting of an iris diaphragm matrix, the facade's surface with its apertures' variable opening diameters is enriched by a dynamic translucency, that creates new imagery as well as a new channel for communication between inside and outside.
the FatJab
The FatJab offers another perspective to the process of reclaiming public spaces. It is a handheld printer that allows artists to print patterns and stories on any surface in the physical space. It deliberately doesn't contain any sensing technology. The goal is to let the artist gain full control over the interface and distort the printed data as it is sprayed onto a surface to create a more personal rendering of a digital artwork. The FatJab is an attempt at creating a medium where users create patterns and stories in the digital space and bring them to the physical space in a very expressive manner.

Exista tipuri de pictura care au un destin ciudat. Pica prada propriei popularitati. Asa s-a intamplat si cu pictura de peisaj. Dupa aparitia fotografiei lumea a consumat imagini ale naturii intr-un ritm ametitor. Imagini ale vegetatiei sau cerului au devenit locuri comune, si-au pierdut aura si de cele mai multe ori cand sunt utilizate devin kitsch. Nu se mai poate picta un cer cu nevinovatie. Cam la fel s-a intamplat si cu discursul artistic in jurul mortii. Dupa existentialism lumea vorbeste cu mult mai multa jena sau retinere despre moarte sau finitudine. Nu mai e la moda moartea. Nu se mai discuta direct despre ea. Exista teme ocolitoare: depresia sau violenta. Sau mai bine zis efectele sau derapajele psihologice ale constiintei finitudinii. Nu ne mai sperie „The Grim Reaper”, ci mai degraba ne amuzam intr-o lume a scheletelor simpatice gen „The Corpse Bride” a lui Tim Burton.
In expozitia „In Existus”, Roman Tolici picteaza schelete si ceruri. Ce ziceti? Se mai poate?

Vlad Nanca studiaza specificul national într-un moment în care versatilitatea Romaniei – capacitatea spiritului national de se împarti între mai multe secole – e mai evidenta ca oricînd. Într-un moment în care Romania apare “pe fondul tensiunilor internationale”, dar si pe fondul, la fel de confuz, al propriilor aspiratii contradictorii.
Veti vedea obiecte care apartin, simultan, acestor doua contexte: cele doua contexte în care s-a purtat la noi discutia despre terorism, fumul de mici si fumul lumînarilor (singurul indiciu de spatiu public pe care îl reusim, duminica), mistica transformata în politica si lupta politica care foloseste retorica misticii, adversari imaginari si tinte gresite. Semne ca traim în cea mai stranie dintre lumile posibile.

Se refera la indemnul general de a nu cumpara benzina pe data de 1 Octombrie 2005.
Cresterea constanta a pretului benzinei creeaza o crestere a tensiunii. Toti sunteti invitati sa participati la aceasta intiativa.
Momentul cheie este 1 Octombrie 2005. Daca in acea zi niciunde nu se va vinde benzina, piata va deveni mai atenta. Trebuie sa devenim constienti ca avem puterea si trebuie doar sa o folosim.

Avem plăcerea să vă anunţăm deschiderea la Cluj a galeriei plan b. Galeria este proiectul artiştilor Mihai Pop şi Adrian Ghenie, şi este susţinută financiar de către Target Capital SA – servicii de investiţii financiare.
Galeria îşi propune să producă şi să promoveze expoziţii aparţinînd în general unor artişti deja activi pe scena internaţională, ale căror lucrări problematizează cu predilecţie spaţiul central şi est european. Intenţia noastră este ca publicul galeriei să primească prin proiectele expuse un feed-back la experienţa comună trăită aici.
Expoziţia Perfect Crime înscenează dizolvarea extraordinarului în credibil. Spaţiul galeriei devine o instalaţie, un suport pentru transpunerea unei situaţii imaginate construite pe imagini găsite. În expoziţiile lui Victor Man povestea se naşte din asocierea imaginilor, care iniţial sînt “no meaning images, imagini care, luate separat, nu au nici o semnificaţie”, şi care, puse într-o ordine, creează aparenţa logicii.
